This year the Juneteenth Organization of Pueblo, have awarded 6 local students with scholarships totaling $3000.00.  This year the Juneteenth Celebration will be in Bessemer Park on Saturday June 22, 2019 beginning at 11 am.  

Faizah Howard, 20 will be continuing her education at the Colorado State University of Pueblo, she is majoring in English and plans to become an Editor.
Maelah Castillo-Robinson, 18, will be headed to the University of Denver as a Pioneer Scholar in recognition of her stellar academic record and achievements.  Maelah aspires to become a Forensic Scientist.
Zeida Arceneaux, 18, plans include studying marketing through the Front Range Community College system, she wants to become an Actress.
Zion Simpson-Sankey, 18, will be headed to Colorado Northwestern Community College in Rangely, Colorado.  He will study toward a AA degree in Psychology, his career goal is to become a Police Detective.
Treveon Collins, 18, will be starting his college at McPherson College in Kansas studying to become an Accountant.                   .
Serenity Nailor-Lewis, 18, will be attending the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs studying Psychology.  Serenity wants to help children with autism and other learning disabilities.
